Knowing what motivates us can help us stay focused and remain on track with our goals. It can also be instrumental in helping us choose the right career and make the most of the opportunities that come our way.

While motivation is different for everyone and can come in many forms, there are some basic steps that you can take to better understand what drives you.

1. Identify Your Core Values

The first step to understanding your motivations in life is to identify your core values.
